Thierry & Pascale Matrot Maranges 1er Cru "La Fussiere" 2015 (年份以文字為准)
89 pts Allen Meadows, Burghound :
Aromatically, this is not dissimilar from the straight villages with two minor differences, which is to say that here the nose is slightly more floral and that the fruit is derived more from the red side of the spectrum. The texture of the middle weight flavors is finer though the mid-palate is somewhat less concentrated while the lingering and slightly firmer finish offers a bit more depth and persistence.

" Offering up pretty aromas of raspberries, cherries and candied peel, the 2016 Maranges 1er Cru La Fussière is medium-bodied, satiny and nicely concentrated, with good depth at the core, ripe tannins and a penetrating finish. It's an excellent Maranges that Elsa Matrot purchases as grapes from her brother-in-law--who happens to be one of the appellation's best producers. During my December visit to this important 19-hectare domaine, Elsa Matrot and I tasted through a range of 2017s and 2016s. The style here is pure and understated, minimal wood influence meaning that it is the grapes--and the climats that shape them--that are front and center at all times. A little evolution is taking place, however. Matrot is experimenting with longer élevage for some of her more exalted appellations; and, in response to the problems of premature oxidation, bottling now takes
place by gravity, with more attention given to dissolved oxygen levels. Consumers should find that encouraging news.

The 2016 Maranges Fussière 1er Cru is impressive, with a balanced, complete, solid effort. Blackberries, black cherries, hints of earth, and leafy herbs all emerge from this medium-bodied bodied, elegant yet balanced beauty. It's going to benefit from a year or two and keep for a decade.
