Cloudy Bay Te Wahi Pinot Noir 2018

The 2018 Te Wahi Central Otago Pinot Noir is dark and intense. On the nose, you’ll find dusky brambles, wild strawberries and hints of violet. The palate is elegant and abounds with damson and hedgerow fruit. Dense tannins and vibrant freshness bring tension, balance and clarity, drawing to a long and focused finish.

“Te Wahi“係酒莊旗艦紅酒，是毛利語「這個地方」之意，指的就是酒莊此系列頂級Pinot Nior。由兩個Central Otago產區，海拔高度落在220-275公尺間的優質葡萄園調配而成，白天溫暖乾燥，夜晚涼爽，葡萄得以緩慢熟成。

兩個葡萄園包括：來自班諾克本Bannockburn 谷地以濃厚絲滑口感的Calvert 葡萄園，以及酒莊最新擁有Dunstan 湖畔東岸崎嶇的Northburn 。Calvert 葡萄園擁有古老湖泊底部海拔230 公尺高度形成的均勻坋質壤土(Silty loam)，因而孕育出濃厚風味與絲滑稠密口感的黑皮諾葡萄。Northburn 葡萄園則擁有三種以冰河而形成的土壤，遍布於海拔220~275 公尺處，傾斜的地形得以在葡萄生長期間不受北風侵襲而受到保護。此區域氣候溫暖且乾燥，所幸在葡萄生長期間的夜晚有涼爽的溫度得以調節每日溫差。Northburn 葡萄園生產的葡萄擁有堅實的結構與讓人難忘的美好風味。

Te Wahi Pinot Noir 擁有紅色與深色櫻桃、黑色梅李芬芳。一開瓶，煙燻燧石與花朵風味逐漸湧現。入口後，帶有輕柔酸度的甜美水果滋味縈繞口中。口感絲絨般柔順又帶有堅實的單寧結構，aftertaste唔錯。

The grapes are harvested by hand and 78% of them are destemmed. The free-run juice undergoes cold decantation for five days. Fermentation with wild yeast is accompanied by regular cap punching. Vatting for 12 to 19 days. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new.
