Super, complex nose with a mix of dried fruit and spice that takes time to unravel. Dried cherry, mandarin peel, cinnamon and nutmeg are just a start. Some truffle in there, too, if you linger. Full-bodied with well-integrated tannins that carry the fruit and spice through the long finish. Drinking well now, but best from 2023.

The wine opens with a brooding cherry, strawberry sherbert, and forest floor aroma. The palate starts with a firm tannin structure and almost overbearing concentration, but it opens quickly to reveal rich layers of spiced plum cake, morello cherries, truffles, and delicate mushrooms.

酒莊歷史可以追溯到1841年，在那個政權紛爭的年代，酒莊早早就獲得了來自軍方宣布的“葡萄酒銷售許可證”，並在此之後的1911年的“Torino國際葡萄酒節”上獲得葡萄酒釀造的金牌，實力不容小覷。

1930年老莊主去世後，酒莊曾一度改變經營策略，轉為僅釀造自己自己的葡萄酒。但由於品質非常出眾，有別的酒莊會跑來買他們的酒，然後貼上自己的名牌再對市場銷售。酒莊就這樣經歷了長達40年的沉寂，不過最終在20世紀70年代開始重新復興。

隨後，在莊主Alessandro Locatelli與國際知名釀酒師Giuseppe Caviola的努力下，酒莊開始重新步入商業舞台，並斬獲《意大利佳釀指南》（Vini Buoni）整整11個皇冠獎，2012年的Rocche dell'Annunziata Riserva還曾獲得“ 2019年度最佳意大利葡萄酒”的殊榮。

在Rocche dell’Annunziata這片巔峰風土地塊中，酒莊精選了一小塊擁有極高品質的“園中園”，並以酒莊創始人Francesco對其命名。酒款僅在優秀的年份出產（歷史均獲酒評家92-95高分），經過36個月大型斯洛文尼亞桶的陳年後，再經24個月的瓶陳，總計長達5年才面世。精準表達了地塊風土的特色以及傳統派Barolo獨有的沉穩和力量。
