This is the best bottle of Trottevieille '00 that I have encountered, undoubtedly superior to several previous samples. Here, it offers a lovely blackberry, mineral rich nose that demonstrates fine precision and clarity at 13-years of age, almost Left Bank in style thanks to that sous-bois component. The palate is medium-bodied and nicely balanced, those brutish tannins of its youth finally mellowing out.
