Hoffmann-Jayer Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Rouge 2018

Vintage 2015 : 91 pts Stephen Tanzer - Vinous

Bright red-ruby. Pungent aromas of pomegranate and crushed raspberry are accented by licorice and floral notes. Dense, sappy and fine-grained, with a sexy sweet oak component adding another dimension to the black fruit flavors. Finishes ripely tannic and persistent. Gilles Jayer noted that as his '15s started with very little malic acidity, they haven't changed much during the secondary fermentations.

Vintage 2015 : 89 pts Burghound

Here the slightly more complex nose blends both red and dark berry fruit aromas with a touch of earth. I like the texture of the delicious, pliant and sappy medium weight flavors that, like the nose, possess just a bit more depth on the balanced and moderately firm finish. It's relatively rare to find examples of Bourgogne with this level of quality and particularly so from the Hautes Côtes. Recommended

Jayer-Gilles 的村莊級紅酒 Cotes du Nuits 和 Hautes Cotes du Nuits 雖係入門酒款，但都係以四十年以上葡萄樹釀成，品質出眾。酒廠出產兩款 Nuit-St-Georges 紅酒，其中僅 0.11公頃的一級園 Damodes 位置緊鄰 Vosne Romanee，(65歲老藤)香氣奔放，非常具有Vosne Romanee風格。Jayer-Gilles 的價格與 Henri Jayer 幾家傳人酒莊，如 Meo-Camuzet 和 Emmanuel Rouget 比起來更為平易近人。其採用的釀法幾乎與 Henri Jayer 如出一轍，100% 去梗、發酵前低溫浸皮等，這在 Jayer-Gilles 的酒中也同樣可看得見。

About the Winery:

老莊主 Robert Jayer 係布根地傳奇釀酒師Henri Jayer表兄弟，佢既葡萄酒係米芝蓮星級餐廳酒單上必定出現。Robert 曾拜師於 DRC 釀酒總管 Andre Noblet 之下，係DRC釀酒長達八年，因為這一層的關聯，酒廠唯一的一塊頂級葡萄園Echezeaux就係來自 DRC 的 Echezeaux 分割賣給他的一塊地。(DRC拎左呢個資金去買 La Tache )。Dessus 是 AOC Echezeaux 中條件最優秀的葡萄園，也因此 Jayer Gilles 的 Echezeaux 優異品質可媲美 DRC 的 Echezeaux。

Robert Jayer 和酒農的女兒 Gilles 女士結婚，結合兩家的葡萄園創立了 Jayer-Gilles 酒廠。現任莊主 Gilles Jayer 係 Robert 個仔，由於 Jayer 家族幾乎都生女孩陰盛陽衰，Gilles Jayer 是目前唯一還在釀酒的男丁，都係Jayer 家族「最後的一根香火」。
