A step up over the Côte Blonde release, the 2013 Côte Rôtie Cote Brune was similarly not destemmed and saw 5% Viognier in the blend. Aged 30 months in 600-liter, two- to five-year-old barrels, it has gorgeous minerality in its dark fruits, smoked herbs, wild herbs and olive tapenade bouquet. This carries to a medium plus-bodied Côte Rôtie that has a killer mid-palate, a beautiful texture and sweet tannin that frame the finish. Drink this high class Côte Rôtie anytime over the coming 10-15 years.

Domaine Barge創立於1860年代，於1929年成為Côte Rôtie第一個出售瓶裝酒的酒莊。1970年代，一開始只釀造了一款混合Côte Brune與Côte Blonde的Côte Rôtie風土酒款。1979年，隨著第三代Gilles Barge的加入，酒莊在傳統手法中逐漸注入了創新的改變。1994年，Gilles Barge正式接掌酒莊，釀造時採用帶梗發酵，並且大部分運用舊桶陳釀。同時他也革新酒莊的釀酒方式，早在降低用硫蔚為風潮之前就採行了減硫釀造，不澄清也不過濾，甚至構想出在溫控槽中進行沉浸發酵的方式。他也釀造出兩款獨特且表現力強的單一園特釀以及一款混合特釀，如今，Domaine Barge已經是Côte Rôtie的重要酒莊。

2018年，酒莊開始採用Gilles的兒子Julien Brage所設計的葡萄園管理方式，基本上不使用除草劑或任何過於複雜的產品，以更忠於自然的方式管理。2019年，Gilles與妻子Alice退休，酒莊正式交由Julien管理。
