Domaine Sylvain Cathiard 成立於 1930 年代，酒莊位於Vosne Romanée，僅有一共約 4.25 公頃的葡萄園，大部分皆分布於Chambolle Musugny、Vosne Romanée 及 Nuit St. Georges 三個夜丘區的精華產區。儘管產量低，但出產的酒款可說是品質保證，卓越表現有目共睹！

Domaine Sylvain Cathiard 的明星葡萄園非 Romanée St Vivant 莫屬，僅擁有0.18公傾的面積，加上40年以上的老藤，年產量控制在每公頃3000公升內，相當稀少。多個年份 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard 的價格甚至超越DRC，可見 SC 不容小覬的堅強實力！

Sylvain Cathiard 的祖父 Alfred Cathiard 曾於 DRC 學習釀酒的相關技術，在 1930 年代成立了 Domaine Cathiard，主要從事將葡萄酒以桶裝賣給酒商的工作。直到 1940 年，兒子 Andre 開始自行釀造並裝瓶銷售，在 1969 年繼承葡萄園後，更名為 Domaine Cathiard Molenier。

Andre 的兒子 Sylvain 年輕時便在葡萄園與酒窖隨父親打理一切事務，而後向父親租賃的一片葡萄園並獨自成立 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard，直到 1995 年 Andre 退休，由 Sylvain 繼承家裡資產，兩個酒莊又合併在一起。Sylvain 擔任莊主後使整個葡萄園邁入鼎盛時期，不斷購入 Vosne 村優秀的土地，包括 En Orveau、Les Suchot、Aux Reignots 或 Chambolle 村的 Clos de l’orme等，大大增加酒莊的勢力版圖，知名度水漲船高。

Sylvain Cathiard 自接觸葡萄酒的第一天起，他的目標就是“Fruit, Purity, Elegance”（果味、純淨、優雅）。因此，他盡可能有效控制產量，並在春天時減除多餘花蕾，以使葡萄藤吸收更充分的營養，最後還會以人工的方式進行篩選、嚴格剔除不良的果實。

第四代的 Sebastien 在夏布利、波爾多和紐西蘭接受培訓後回到父親的酒莊學習，並開始了大規模的進行酒窖的改革，2008年完工後，2011年他從父親 Sylvain 手中接下了酒莊，他在有良好基礎之下進行些微的改良，像是減少新橡木桶使用的比例，以保留更清新的果味。

這個傳承四代的酒莊，已然成為 Vosne Romanée 炙手可熱的一線名莊，但 Sylvain Cathiard 仍不斷擴展酒莊的葡萄園面積，並且繼續發揚光大。
