There is a whiff of olive oil character to the petrol and very floral-suffused aromas of various white orchard fruit and citrus zest. The intense and driving middle weight flavors possess outstanding mid-palate density along with fine minerality that adds a sense of lift to the powerful yet refined finish. This actually is vaguely reminiscent of a first-rate Chablis and this is a stunner of a PF. Highly recommended.

"Very pale color. Fresh pears, low acidity, but excellent pH, starts quietly and builds beautifully with an excellent white fruit and balanced acidity integration to finish, with a lightly saline terroir touch. Excellent persistence, fine balance."

"Oliver Merlin was positively aglow as he told me about his joint venture purchase with Dominique Lafon of the historic property known as the Château des Quarts; indeed he described it as a “once in a lifetime opportunity. Financially speaking it was too expensive for me to purchase it alone so I called my good friend Dominique and told him about the possibility of acquiring the property. We went to look it over and as soon as Dominique saw it he said ‘I’m in, this is an opportunity that we’ll probably never see again."

Pouilly-Fuisse係布根地南部Macon產區的明星村莊，呢個村莊沒有特級園，但2020年開始有22塊田被升級為一級園，被公認為盛產白酒的hidden gem，只要看到Pouilly-Fuisse這個字，幾乎就是布根地高品質Chardonnay白酒的同義字。

今日介紹呢一款Pouilly-Fuisse "Clos des Quarts" 係Olivier Merlin與Dominique Lafon二位布根地白酒大師的傑作，Lafon酒莊應該不需要我再贅述，佢係布根地白酒的地位，大約就是DRC、Leroy在紅酒的地位，絕對係白酒天王，而Olivier Merlin也是Pouilly-Fuisse產區裡的代表性人物，二位白酒大師攜手釀出的佳作，只要飲過，味蕾就完全被征服。

雖然2018仲係年輕且有陳年潛力，杏仁、核果、香草、礦石、等等風味既複雜有多層次，那股晶瑩剔透口感之中爆發出的犀利多酸，讓人回味。
