Faustino 酒莊一直陳釀出不同的紅酒系列，其中Faustino I系列就是Rioja地區Gran Reserva當中的表表者。根據當地法規，Gran Reserva需要經過至少５年的陳年，當中最少需要在木桶陳年18個月。此次介紹的Faustino I Gran Reserva則在法國及美國橡木桶陳年最少26個月，並且放在瓶中陳放最少３年。這一方法將Rioja當中的風土特色，完美融合在西班牙特色葡萄Tempranillo及橡木桶香氣。如很多葡萄酒專家言，好的葡萄酒可以反映當地的風土特色，而今次主角Faustino I Gran Reserva 2009則可以完美將Rioja一年的寒暑呈現比大家。長時間的陳年不單只將當地的風土特色放大，更可以將葡萄酒中的單寧柔化，令葡萄酒的銳利鋒芒褪去，酒體醇厚且入口柔順多變。

This special edition of the famous Faustino I Gran Reserva was created as a homage to the president of Faustino, Julio Faustino Martínez. Unlike its yellow label counterpart, this black label version is made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes, sourced from the best plots of Faustino's 650 hectares of vineyards in Rioja Alavesa, between Laguardia and Ovón. The wine is aged in American oak for 11 months, followed by 14 months in French oak. It is a more modern version of Faustino I Gran Reserva.
